Carbon Neutral Manufacturer

Why did Cycle Pure Agarbathies (NRRS) choose to become carbon neutral?

Because it’s the right thing to do. For us. For our consumers. And for the future generations. We think it is our responsibility to leave the planet cleaner and greener than we inherited it. We need to give back what we take. We need to own up and clean up.

What does it mean to be “Carbon Neutral”?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) accounts for 77 per cent of man-made greenhouse gas emissions which along with other greenhouse gases trap the sun’s heat to cause global warming and climate change.

Carbon footprint is the amount of energy, greenhouse gases and waste generated to support the lifestyle of a country, an organisation, a service, a group, an event, a product or even an individual.

Carbon neutral / carbon neutrality is a term used to describe the action of organizations and individuals taking steps to remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as each put into it.

The overall goal of carbon neutrality is to achieve a zero-carbon footprint.

This can be achieved through a combination of efficiency measures in-house and funding external emission reduction projects - Carbon offset.

Offset is done by purchasing ‘carbon credits’ from accredited companies. These companies, in turn, invest the funds in renewable energy projects or for planting and growing trees.

A carbon credit is a permit that allows the company that holds it to emit a certain amount of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases. One credit permits the emission of a mass equal to one ton of carbon dioxide.

Why should we use CarbonNeutral products? What difference does it make compared to other products?

Simply put, Carbon Neutral products are “guilt-free” products. They are environmentally “clean” and “sustainable” products. Buying a Carbon Neutral product is the responsible thing to do. Especially if you care about nature and future generations.

The emissions caused in their production have been offset products that have CO2-emissions related to its production, calculated and compensated for by a carbon offset project.

How are the Carbon emissions calculated? And offset?

The Carbon Footprint is calculated by stringent, external Carbon Footprint audit by international evaluators, every year.

Cycle Pure Agarbathies achieves carbon neutrality through a cost-effective combination of internal emission reductions plus the use of external environmental instruments.

To address emission reduction, Cycle Pure Agarbathies has in the recent years revamped and optimised its supply chain logistics pre and post-production and has also decentralised final production processes to reap dual benefits. One, being income-generating opportunities to women in different parts of the country. Two, the products being easily accessible and readily available to customers thereby reducing the Carbon Footprint due to transportation.

Cycle Pure Agarbathies will soon be subjected to the fifth year of stringent, external Carbon Footprint audit by international evaluators. The organisation continues to work on operational changes to minimise Carbon emissions. In the past, Cycle Pure Agarbathies Carbon Neutral status has been managed by partially supporting Andipatti Wind Power, Andhra Pradesh Solar Power, Harapanahali Wind Power and West India Wind Power projects.

Cycle Pure Agarbathies is an ethical & eco-friendly business entity, consciously aware of Carbon Footprint and its repercussions for the wellbeing of future generations.

Cycle Pure Agarbathies is committed to a greener, cleaner and healthier future for all beings.
